After having read this paragraph, my mind became flooded with thoughts, to which I will share with you:

“Where did Moses grow up? What cultures influenced him? First, it is obvious that Moses as a son of Pharaoh’s daughter and grandson of the Pharaoh must have received an excellent education in the palace by the Egyptian scholars. His main formation was through the Egyptian culture, and as we know, this was a political-religious system, characterized by sun worship and the worship of a living human being as a God, the Pharaoh.” – “Shadows of the Cross, Part II, “The Last Countdown Book”, John Scotram, page 307.

Sadly, not much has changed between the time of Moses and our time.  Moses was raised, by God, to bring God’s people out of Egypt, and somewhere along the line, someone else came along and dragged them all back, and just as Israel wanted to return, to Egypt, instead of going through the “Wilderness Experience”, many today are just as content to be in “spiritual” Egypt.

Let’s make the comparison:  (1) Egypt was a political-religious system.  Rome is exactly the same.  Rome is the “Christian” version of a political AND religious system of Egypt.  Is not the Vatican recognized as both a “state” and “religion”?  Is not the Pope both the head of the governing body and pastoral leader, just as the Pharaoh was in Egypt?  (2) Egypt was characterized as sun worshipers.  Does not Rome have the same appellation?  Was not Rome responsible for its adherents worshiping on Sunday as per the edict of Milan in 321 AD?  Does not only Roman Catholics but the majority of Protestants which came out of Catholicism not carry on the tradition of worshiping on the “Day of the Sun” (Sunday)? And lastly, (3) Egypt’s Pharaoh, a living human being was worshiped as God.  Does Rome not only does but requires its people to do the same?  Review these quotations taken from a main Catholic website, “The Catholic Viewpoint”:

“The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth.” Pope Pius V, quoted in Barclay, Chapter XXVII, p. 218, “Cities Petrus Bertanous”.

* Pope Nicholas I declared: ”the appellation of God had been confirmed by Constantine on the Pope, who, being God, cannot be judged by man.”(Labb IX Dist.: 96 Can 7 Satis Evidentur Decret Gratian Primer Para)

* The Pope is not only the representative of Jesus Christ, He is Jesus Christ himself, hidden under the veil of flesh.” Catholic National July 1895

* “We hold upon this earth the place of Almighty God” Pope Leo XIII Encyclical Letter of June 20, 1894

* ” All names which in the Scriptures are applied to Christ, by virtue of which is established that He is over the church, all the same names are applied to the Pope.” On the authority of the Councils, book 2, chapter 17

* The Pope is of so great dignity, and so exalted that he is not a mere man, but as it were God,, and the vicar of God.” Ferraris Ecclesiastical dictionary
With this apparent contrast, the question needs to be asked, which god are your worshiping?  It needs to be understood, while we may be individuals and God recognizes us as such, there is something to be said regarding our system of worship.  Let me clarify my point.  All Americans or citizens of the United States of America are represented by President Obama, regardless of whether you voted for him or against.  When he goes somewhere, he is the “Head of State” for U.S. Americans regardless of where we are in the world.  I’m a U.S. citizen living in the Philippines.  As such, he represents me wherever he goes, and what he does reflects upon me to the world, regardless of my disapproval of his action.

The Pope on the other hand not only represents the people who live in Vatican City as their head of state, but he also represents the 1.2 billion members of the Catholic Church.  Whatever he does and goes, despite where you live and believe, he represents them.  Consequently, and many will have an issue with my next statement, the Pope also represents the 900 million Protestants in the world regardless of whatever denomination you may belong because although you have come out of their system yet you have brought with you their traditions and beliefs and made them your own regardless if you know it or not or accept it not!

When Israel left Egypt, there were a multitude of those folks who chose to leave with them, not wanting to remain in the devastating of Egypt.  They are called the “mixed multitude”:

“And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.” Ex 12:38 (KJV)

There are many views as to who these people are from them being (1) slaves from other nations, (2) Egyptian nationals who tired of the plagues and believed God was truly with the Israelites.  The point is, God does not refuse anyone regardless of what they bring to the party nor how deeply they’re affected, by sin, in hopes of their finding the true God and repenting.  After the several hundred years of God’s people having spent in idolatry and paganism certainly they would continue worshiping in this way until they were weaned from the mistaken and false system of belief until purified.  The same for Christians today who underwent their own “Egypt Experience” while under the Roman system of paganism, idolatry and false worship for even more years than Israel!  Israel had 300 years, Christians 1,260 years known as the “Middle Ages” and “Dark Ages” and they were VERY dark for a good reason.  Yet, and I say this with deep regret, many people today wish to remain in the “middle” and in the “darkness” which continues to become a factor in their religious worship today.  We understand why those who call themselves “Catholic” do what they do, but why do you “Protestants” continue to do what you were brought out from doing?  Are you truly God’s people or are you a part of the “mixed multitude”, caught in the middle, and following whatever appears to be better suited than the present situation?

And just as Israel and that mixed multitude was brought to the Mt. Sinai experience when God Himself began guiding them back to truth by giving them His Law of Ten Commandments, the same will occur very soon for those who are God’s people called out of Roman Catholicism, yes, you Protestants who continue to be contaminated by “sun” worship (worshiping on Sunday, having your congregational meetings), He will, again, bring before you His Law of Ten Commandments to guide you into all truth!

The question remains to be asked, and answered, “Who IS your God?”
