We are all familiar with the story of Elijah and Elisha, and what transpired when Elijah was taken up in the fiery chariot:

And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.  And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.  And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.  And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.  He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;  And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Lord God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.  2 Kings 2:9-14 (KJV)

Perhaps in the passing of Evangelist C.D. Brooks, I’m wondering who the mantle will fall upon.  Now, in my opinion, there are very few who have touched me personally similarly, such as Pastor Henry Wright who is nearing the end of his journey; however, there is one young man who I believe has been given a “double portion of the Holy Spirit” in ministering the Word, Pastor Andrew Henriquez.  However, in these last days, there is more opportunity for men to preach the Third Angel’s Message, so the question becomes, “Who is asking for the mantle?

As Elisha was given the desire of his heart, he went about immediately using the mantel in miraculous ways.  Such will be the same upon whomever Pastor Brook’s mantle will fall upon.  Thousands need to hear the message only given to God’s Remnant church for the last days.  It must be preached in power and it must be lived by whomever it falls upon whose character will be assailed, but no opportunity provided by their own hand.  It will be an awesome responsibility and while Pastor Brooks opened the door, those upon the mantel has fallen will be responsible for closing it.

While one era has closed, it has been done so to make way for that which will be greater.

Who is asking for the mantel?
