The devil had a serious problem, with God.  He believed and taught the angelic host it was not necessary to be under any Law because they were perfect beings, living in a perfect environment, and needed no guidance.  This was the very evidence which demonstrated to those watching what occurs when one goes against the established Law.

When Adam and Eve sinned, as a direct result of breaking the same Law, by the instigator Satan, they heard, both them and Satan, a pronouncement which would ring down through the ages of time, to our time.  It is found in Genesis:  “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Gen 3:15 (KJV)

The word, “enmity” is easily defined as “hatred”.  God, in essence, was saying there would be a hatred between those who are God’s people and those who are not.  Those who are not God’s people would hate anything God’s people would do.  This would be the defining moment.  When we read Genesis 5 and 6, we see a distinct separateness between the “sons of man” versus the “Sons of God”.  The “Sons of God” would love God and wish to comply with God’s Law, whereas the “sons of man” would not only hate God’s People but equally would hate God’s Law because it exposes them.

As an ex-convict, I understand this analogy quite clearly.  When inside the walls, I noticed most everyone there hated anything having to do with the Law.  They hated the correction’s officer, the administration.  The inmates hated the rules and regulations of the facility and tried everything whether overtly or covertly to show their hatred, but the one thing I noticed quite apparently, because it was personal, they hated me.  Whatever they could do to cause me harm, anguish and pain would be done.  On more than one occasion I was told by confidants, “Watch your back.  They really hate you.”  It was then I began to fully understand and appreciate the text in Genesis and it led me to understand one other thing:  I was on the right path!

Today, God’s people are separated by the very same thing which caused a separation to exist in heaven, those who hated God and His Law versus those who would comply without question.  There are many who claim to love God but who hate God’s Law and having anything to do with it.  They will try to justify themselves speaking about covenants and testaments, sounding as if they’re attorneys using legalese when they haven’t a clue what they’re saying.  They cannot see how convoluted their faith is to the point they’re deceived and following the one who truly hates God and everything about Him.

What was so funny, to me, was when recreation time occurred, and the television room would be filled and if there were no sporting events, shows which had police as the theme was not watched and those which did have cops, well, guess who was rooting for the violator to get free?  It surely wasn’t God’s people.  Several times I would simply state, “That man was wrong and should not have fought or resisted” would be met with glares, anger and oftentimes some would get up from sitting near me to relocate to other chairs not wanting to associate with someone who was for the Law!

Nothing’s changed.  The same occurs today in our churches.  Those who say God’s Law is no longer valid have gotten up and chosen to worship apart from those who are worshipping God is “spirit and truth” and according to the Law of God.  And, like in prison, when I only had (a) friend as opposed to those who had many, the same occurs each Sabbath as opposed to Sunday.  This doesn’t worry me, for the majority, religiously speaking has never been in the right nor will they be when Christ returns and hears those fated words:  “Depart from Me, I never knew you!”

To whom do you belong?  It’s a question easily answered.  Do you believe and keep God’s Law, His Ten Commandments?  If not, then you are not a part of God’s People but have been fooled by the one who fooled an untold number of angels.  He got them fooled and if he was able to do that to them, what possible chance do you think you would have?  He’s already gotten to you, too!
