“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” Matt 5:18 (KJV)
Question: Has the earth or heaven passed away?
Factual Statement: Then God’s Law is still viable.
Then why is it ministers are teaching it is not, according to the next verse?
“Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” Matt 5:19 (KJV)
There are many who mistaken regarding the verse which precedes these verses,
“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.” Matt 5:17 (KJV)
There is a misconception God’s Law ended at the cross when Christ died, meaning for them, there is no further need of God’s Law. What they have mistaken is in “what law” was “fulfilled” at the cross? It has to be a law which dealt with death, for this was the penalty given to all men for breaking God’s Law. Is God’s Law about death? No, for it is called the “Law of Liberty”. It is also called, “Good”, so how could this be fulfilled? However, there is a law which dealt with the law of sacrifices, given by God to Moses, about the same time when the Ten Commandments, God’s “holy” Law was given, and this came “after” the Ten Commandments, or God’s Law was given. Also, keep this in mind, God’s Law, the Ten Commandments were given before sin ever entered the world. Had to have been because how could Adam and Eve have broken it had it not existed “before” sin? Therefore, once sin entered, then the law regarding sacrifice which pointed toward Christ took place, and would be completed or “fulfilled” upon the cross when He died for you and me. This would explain why you or I don’t have to slaughter lambs, rams and bulls today. THIS IS THE LAW THAT WAS FULFILLED. However, is there still sin in this world? Let’s make it more personal: did you sin yesterday? How about today? And what is the likelihood of you sinning tomorrow? Why is this? Could it not be because God’s Law is still active and involved in your life? Then why do you listen to those ministers and teachers who will tell you that God’s Law, the Ten Commandments are no longer viable, not necessary for a Christian to keep? If there is no law, there is no sin. No sin, no need for repentance, forgiveness and grace therefore we are “sinless” and cannot sin and we know how ridiculous this thought is!
When you got up this morning and turned on CNN and noticed the world hadn’t come to an end and saw how sinful we still are, this should be your clue God’s Law is still to be observed by you and I. Those who teach this is not so the Bible calls them the “least in the kingdom of heaven”. Meaning, there is still a chance for them but this won’t last much longer. Eventually, you will have to come to the acceptance of God’s Law or you won’t and when you have made the decision, either you will be ushered into the “Kingdom of God” or you would have chosen, “Eternal damnation”. There is only two choices and “yes”, it revolves around how you treat God’s Law. Some of you will say, “love” and “gift of God” and other excuses to try and avoid keeping God’s Law, but the point needs to be emphasized, “love” and “gift of God” is also wound up in the keeping of His Law without “love” and this being a “gift of God” you will not be able to do so.
Choose to do so! It does make a difference.
