Earlier in the week I posted “Entering God’s Presence” and this post will be elaborative of what this actually means.  It will involve understanding prophecy and acknowledge what was given many, many years ago will have a direct application to our time today.  This is what is known as the “First Angel’s Message”:

“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” Rev 14:6-7 (KJV)

God’s judgment has come!  So many of us hear about this “judgment” and believe it is placed at some far off time in the future and yet many do not actually realize it is going on, RIGHT NOW!  In fact, many believe and are taught this is something to occur AFTER Jesus has returned.  Those who hold this view are in for a really big surprise and that of a great disappointment.  The Bible says:

“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” Rev 22:12 (KJV)

If Jesus is coming—quickly, and His “reward” is with Him, which is either life eternal and for those who do not receive this reward then eternal death, this “judgment” had to have taken place BEFORE He comes.  This is a reasonable deduction, is it not?  How do you reward someone before investigating and determining their fate?

Daniel said:

“And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.” Dan 8:14 (KJV)

(Bro. Roy’s Note: While this may not necessarily be the place or time to give a full explanation of how I determined the time, for those who have questions, simply ask them in either an inbox message or comment and I will be glad to provide you with further information.)

When Daniel made this prophetic statement he had no clue as to its meaning.  But, we do!  Suffice it to say, according to Nehemiah in 457 BC, began the beginning of this period and if you add 2300 you will come to what is determined 1844. (2300 – 457 = 1844).  *Keep in mind, although at first you come to 1843, there is no “0” year when calculating for time.

The beginning of “judgment” is likened to the Day of Atonement.  It is so very important to understand what took place in the service of this time because it will help us to understand what is going on during our time.  This is why I state emphatically this is not the time for “celebratory” services, but a time of intense scrutiny and sobriety because our name can come up (our record) and our fate could be decided at any time, even prior to our having died.

Friends, there is not a literal “judgment seat” where you and I actually stand before God as if we could explain ourselves to Someone who knows everything!  Perish the thought.  However, our lives are recorded in a book.  Every thought, act and word is logged and it is this which represents us before God while the prosecutor (satan) attempts to smear us while Christ attempts to clear us because of what He has done on Calvary’s cross.  This is why we should spend our waking moments not accumulating more accusations (sin).

Israel’s example of what happened on that day is the position we should be assuming.  It was a very solemn period.  No one wanted the high priest to come out from that mysterious place, the “Most Holy Place” without their sins having been forgiven.  Now, consider this, if you will:  “The penalty for sin is already paid before the judgment determining who receives it is given.” Think back.  Wasn’t the lamb slain before the actually service in the Day of Atonement began? In other words, if you are found worthy to have your sins forgiven, the penalty for those sins has been satisfied.  Your account is clear.  There will be found many who will not be found worthy and whose sins were not forgiven and they must pay the penalty for themselves, which results in eternal damnation.

We can quote all the wonderful verses about being “saved”, “forgiven”, etc., but when you examine what Israel did in the past and what we should be doing in the future, the past Day of Atonement is really an example for us to realize what it would mean in the literal sense during our time since 1844.  THIS IS THE DAY OF ATONEMENT for all men and women.

The First Angel’s Message is a solemn message letting us know when judgment actually began.  The actual fulfilment of Daniel’s prophecy.  And notice something else about that message regarding the worship of God.  Does it sound familiar?  The “worship” of God who made the “heaven, and earth, and the sea…”

Review Exo. 20:8-11:

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” Ex 20:8-11 (KJV)

This message points us to the true worship of God which is found in this text.  For thousands of years man, God’s church, has forgotten how to worship God in “spirit and in truth”, so this angel begins the call for you and I to give up tradition, customs and the false worship and return to what God has given and not what man wishes to  believe.

In essence, the way to escape being adjudged as one who is not worthy of receiving eternal life is by turning to the Creator and giving Him true worship.  They go hand-in-hand, and there is no way to avoid this—today.
