PLANNING TO GO TO HEAVEN?

During my morning’s devotion, I came across this verse, “And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” Rev 21:27 (KJV) Something within shared a message which I would like to share with you.

When you consider heaven and the beauty, purity and blessed place it is, how rightly will you fit in?  Think about it, the angels and other residents there experienced what it was when Lucifer began his mess!  They know what it is to have a contaminating influence there and pretty much like you and I in wanting to protect our neighborhood and cities from evil influences, the question needs to be asked of each one of us, “Would we be welcomed there!”

How easily available would it be to get a pulled-pork sandwich?  Or a slab of baby-back ribs?  How about a shrimp cocktail or lobster dinner?  Where do you think you would be able to get some beer, a bottle of liquor or even a nice wine cooler?  Will there be a “non-smoking” section or will you be able to light up anywhere?  How about music?  Will there be places where one can go and listen to performers singing and playing: rap, rock & roll, jazz, R&B, or easy listening?  Will there be the “Heavenly Channel” where you’re able to tune in to the “Heavenly Idol” to see someone plying their talents in order to get notoriety and a singing contract?  Or watch “heavenly reality” programs to view the lives of others?  How many sporting events will take place there?

While it is true and the Bible does say “ears have not heard and eyes have not seen what God has prepared for us”, I can pretty much believe and accept those thing which many of you, and I, treasure will not be found there.  I didn’t mention this in the previous paragraph, but it is a biggie and needed to be mentioned in its own paragraph:

How many of you think you will be able to worship God any kind of way in Heaven?  If God has specified a particular day which He called, “holy” and set aside, do you think you can continue doing there what you are doing here?  The point is, my friends, just how will you fit in there?  Will the angels be glad to welcome you and happy you are now in their neighborhood?  Or, will they talk amongst themselves and use the term we so fondly state when an “undesirable” is planning to relocate where we live, “Not in my backyard!”

Truly, many of us are talking about heaven, but less is actually planning what it is takes in order to get there.  There is a strait path which leads to this wonderful place, and there are gates which gain entry into this place.  There will be no electronic devices to detect what is permissible to enter or considered contraband.  There isn’t someone there who’ll pat you down to see if you’re carrying anything forbidden because, you see, all that has been taken care by the life you live down here.

If you’re planning to be there, NOW is the time to get it right.  Citizenship and the ability to be called a Resident of Heaven is done on Earth, NOT in Heaven.
