NO TRINITY, NO GOD

“But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:” Mark 3:29 (KJV)

There is a movement about within the Seventh Day Adventist Church of the belief there is no Trinity and the Holy Spirit is not an actual personality, thinking and doing, of His own cognizance but some “power” which goes out from God.  They believe Sis. White never believed or taught the “Three Persons of the Godhead” yet they continue to call themselves members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.  My friends, you are deluded!  There are even those who deny the Trinity claiming it to be an invention of the Roman Catholic Church, yet they had trees in their homes in December, will have colored eggs in baskets several months from now and most attend church on Sunday, all which came from Catholicism and yet they’re stuck on the Godhead!

The second foundational principle of the Seventh Day Adventist Church is this:

There is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a unity of three co-eternal Persons. (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; Eph. 4:4-6; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 Tim. 1:17; Rev. 14:7.)

Allow me to describe what occurred which has prompted this denial of which the Bible is so very clear:  There is a Trinity.

If the devil could have had his way, there would have been a “quadinity”.  What he failed to realize he had the highest position any “created” being ever could have, but was not satisfied with this when excluded from the counsels of God when creation of this world was being held.  He could not attend the meeting, too, because the Plan of Salvation was discussed of which he would be the major player.  So, the devil had a plan to attack the Father by stating he would assume His position and even be higher than He.  He would direct his complaint against Christ stating he would kill Him and even directed his vehemence toward the Holy Spirit by claiming people would not believe and deny Him.  No wonder Christ, when here, made it certain those who blasphemed (deny) His (Holy Spirit) existence would be placed in a situation where their sin could not be pardoned.

Think about it, and you will see the simplicity.  If one Commandment is broken, all ten are broken.  If you deny one person of the Godhead, then you have denied all Persons of the Godhead.  You cannot be saved unless you accept the Holy Spirit as being an individual, thinking and acting member for without His help you and I cannot be saved!  He is the link to Christ who is the link to the Father and if you deny One, you have denied Them all!  God cannot saved you except through Christ and Christ cannot save you except through the agency of the Holy Spirit.  They exist, together, because love must happen between more than one person and since there were three, ultimate love was found and described as being God itself, for “Love is God, and God is Love”.

For many, no, the majority for us to conceive of what the Trinity is is imaginable. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t exists.  It just means you’re not able to understand it.  But does this mean you are not to accept it?  How many of us accept what we have no control, or understand simply because it exists?  Does God exists?  When you can answer this question, truly, then the next step is simple:  Accept THEM.
