I used to believe when I read this text, there will be people exclaiming this phrase as according to the Scriptures:

“And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.” Mark 13:21-22 (KJV)

That it would mean many who called themselves, “Christ”, would be, as they say, perpetrating a fraud, but the truth of the matter is, it is much closer to home.  What it actually means is the exclamation will go forth and not in some future time but is already going forth in our time when many will believe Christ is in their churches and beckoning those who know the truth to “come”, “attend” and “share” in their experience!

Think about it, if all these churches and different denominations, sects and cults, who claimed to have “Christ” and following Him, why is it God specifically sends forth the command, twice, to come out of them? Rev. 14 & 18.

“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Rev 18:4 (KJV)

God is not talking about “coming out” of the world.  Those are lost already.  What God is stating is to come out of Babylon, the “false” church.  Those who think they have truth and are following truth.  Her sins are worse than the world because nobody expected the world to have any good, but there is such an expectation from those who call themselves, “Christians” or, get this, “Christ’s”.  While there is only “one” Church of Christ, there are many so-called Christ’s church and this is the warning we’re given.

How does one detect whether they are in the Church of Christ as opposed to those who are acting as if they are Christ’s church?  The Bible makes it clear in Revelation 12:17:

“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Rev 12:17 (KJV)

God’s “remnant” church, which means the “last” and more than often the case the “smallest” will have two characteristics: (1) Keep the Commandments (10) of God, and have the testimony of Christ.  There are many professing God’s Commandments are no longer binding.  That takes many so-called Christians out of the contest for salvation.  The remaining may have and do have the “testimony of Christ”, but without having both, my friends, they are members of the “false” church(es) and should be leaving in droves in order to get with God’s “remnant” church for these last days.

Don’t you find it interesting what most churches teach is the same accusation the devil had with God in heaven, about His Commandments?  They should not be binding upon a “perfect” state, in heaven, and now it should not be binding upon Christians who believe they are saved!
