When reading the story of the Children of Israel having left Egypt they came face to face with imminent danger. The Red Sea lay before them and on either side a mountain with the enemy of Egyptian soldiers behind looking for their destruction. A miraculous event took place. The cloud which led them during the day and became a pillar of fire, at night, lifted from the forefront of the people and took its place at the rear, casting light for them while giving darkness to the Egyptian host. This would remain for three days. Such is the case in these last days.
Many do not understand what led them in this fashion was none other than Christ Himself. For His people He is a light but for those who do not know Him, willingly, He becomes darkness and will be the cause of great stumbling because they’re not able to see the truth which He brings. The Bible states God’s “remnant” church would have the “faith of Jesus”, Rev. 14:12. It also confirms it by the similar wording in Rev. 12:17, they would have the “testimony of Jesus Christ”. So, how does Christ become either light or darkness?
When you take these two verses there is more to understand. Let’s make the connection:
“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” Rev 14:12 (KJV)
“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Rev 12:17 (KJV)
Here, in Rev. 12 you will see the origin of God’s Remnant Church and how it began whereas in Rev. 14 you will see this Remnant and what their mission is having concluded. The key to these verses is what this Remnant do. They, “keep the Commandments of God”. From the beginning of their origin through the conclusion of their work, they maintain the “keeping of God’s Ten Commandments” in order to have the “faith” and “testimony” of Christ. Without the first, you cannot possibly have the second, although many would like to believe it is possible.
You have many who’ve fallen into the deception of satan who makes certain claims: (1) The Ten Commandments were done away with at the cross, (2) The Ten Commandments were now different because of keeping of Jesus’s commandments, and other such fallacies at this. Notice it is clear in both verses it is the “Commandments of God” and God gave ONLY TEN COMMANDMENTS in that historic meeting which took place on Mount Sinai. There’s no mention of the commandments of Jesus, is there? What possibly ideology could take place to have people substitute what is clear for speculative reasoning? other than a sinful acceptance of the lies of satan, who hated God’s Commandments.
Can you not see, now, how Jesus will be either the “light” for His people who truly follow Him or He will be “darkness” for those who “think” they’re following Him when all along their walk is in darkness? Isaiah 8:20 makes the understanding of our walk, as the walk of the Israelites during that time, very plain. It states everything we listen, do or think, especially that which is told to us: “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Isaiah 8:20 (KJV)
Notice something similar with Isaiah’s message and that of John’s? How the words, “Law” and “testimony” is used? Five hundred years “before” Christ and John, sixty years “after” Christ seem to echo the same truth: God’s Law and the Testimony, and if there is no using this as your base upon your walk with God, then you are walking in darkness and not living in the light of the truth given for our time.
John, in another place makes this statement: “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” 1 John 2:3-4 (KJV) John makes it very plain those who do not teach, preach or live according to the “Commandments of God” which he himself followed all of his life, who didn’t come to know any other than those given, by God, as being binding upon man, are liars! I, too, can make the bold statement and use the Scriptures for my justification to call your pastor, your bishop, your overseer, or whomever you follow and listen to every Sunday, a liar! They’re following their father, the “father of lies”, satan himself and not that of Christ.
Which is it? Will you continue to “think” you’re doing what is right and continue to exist in darkness or will you come out into the “light” and do what Christ did, taught and lived? Fire has the ability to present “light”; however, the light it brings on that fated day will also have quite a bit of heat and you do not want to be a part of that experience. John says in another place, “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7 (KJV)
My friends, “walk in the light”, while there is still time.
