Every assured and firm position of governance is founded upon a foundation. The Bible makes it clear in the text below:
“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” 2 Tim 2:19 (KJV)
The key to understanding the verse is to know the foundation given to creation, and this goes for not only this planet but every planet, even Heaven itself, is upon the foundation called the Ten Commandments. We seem to think this foundation, the Ten Commandments, were only given to the Jews, or man—exclusively, but this is a fallacy. Ask the angels if they are not held to the same Ten Commandments you and I are under. The Ten Commandments are a transcript of God’s character. Do you want to know about God? Read the Ten Commandments for the Ten Commandments are a revelation of and about God. The enemy of our souls, satan, demonstrated and should be our example as to what happens when we choose to disobey, disregard and disavow the validity, strength and credibility of those Ten Words. He was removed from heaven and sadly you and I have this belief we can enter by choosing to think they are not significant! Don’t be deceived!
Within the Ten Commandments is the “seal”. We hear so much about the “Seal of God” as opposed to the “Mark of the Beast”. Look at the verse again above, what does it say:
“…having this seal, the Lord knoweth them that are His.”
The great issue between God and satan is the same issue between us, man and other men—worship! This is the division between right and wrong. It was the first instance where we see “worship” being challenged and the cause of one man’s death, Abel. It is still the contention between those of us who claim to be the “children of God”, and we cannot seem to have a decent, sensible and compatible conversation due to what constitutes “worship”! Some do it this way, while others do it another way, and the fact you don’t do it the way I do it means you’re wrong! This is the attitude many of us have even within the same church! Something is obvious wrong.
“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure…The Lord knoweth them that are His.”
There can be and will be no question who is really God’s people. He has no question or confusion about His own people regardless of the countless debates and arguments found within the pages of Facebook and within church congregations.
The answer is simply this, the last part of the verse:
“Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
What is iniquity? Sin. And we know sin is what? The “transgression of God’s Law”. And God’s Law is and forever will be the Ten Commandments.
