ECUMENISM – THE GREAT STRUGGLE

While we are aware of the “Great Commission”,

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (KJV)

It needs to be tempered with another commission, rather, a command,

“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Rev 18:4 (KJV)

Sadly, many of us are not aware of just what the difference is and so we will be caught up in the same net when we needed to have been on the shore, safe and secure.

Ecumenism is defined in this way:  “Ecumenism mainly refers to initiatives aimed at greater Christian unity or cooperation. These initiatives are often referred to as interdenominational. It is used predominantly by and with reference to Christian denominations and Christian Churches separated by doctrine, history, and practice.”

While we may have a full understanding regarding “doctrine” and “history”, I think our full knowledge of “practice” is somewhat clouded and this will be the trap set for our unwary situation.  God is very clear when He commands us to, “Come out of her, ‘My’ people…”

How can we “come out” when we are not aware we are inside and think we are outside!  Let me explain what I am seeing.

What are some of the “sins” of Babylon?  Would not “food” be one of them?  Would not “music” be another?  Would not both of these be tied in with “worship”?  How about “lifestyle”?  Have you considered their “religious material”?  Isn’t it interesting when considering what has been given to the “Remnant” church as opposed to the “Apostate” church, we have been cautioned against these very things.  Let me be more specific as to what I’ve noticed on Facebook, more specifically within one of the groups I assist in administrating.

Yesterday, as I perused the group, looking for infractions and improper posts, my concern was particularly with memes.  I found several which were “Catholic” based and the person(s) may not have been made aware!  I also found memes which were taken from other sites, or groups, which are not Adventist (remnant) based but from Apostate pages, websites and groups!  While what was written is “truth”, aren’t we warned about this?  Didn’t the enemy tell the truth mixed with lies?  Was not this the door which opened for Eve’s participation and then witnessed to her husband which caught him in the same trap?  Then why are we doing the same sin?  That’s a question folks which need an answer.

THIS IS WHY, among other reasons, I am pushing for Thursday to be a day when we become the originators, the creators of OUR praise to God, and not the unaware copying/pasting/posting of other sources which may present a “feel good” message, but does not come from “remnant” sources but that of the “apostate” church.  Would it not make sense to utilize “remnant” material from God’s “remnant” people/church?

You cannot both “come out” and yet “join with” whatever they are doing, mixing the two together and think you’re being a witness.  What we read has a source.  If the source is not of God, from a remnant standpoint of view, then it has to be from an apostate point of view and we’re not to have anything to do with the apostate church EXCEPT to witness so they can “Come out”.

Why would they bother to “come out” when they see us having “came in” and got comfortable!
