The last church, the “remnant” church of God is characterized by doing something the “apostate” church, the church of satan does not do and this is simply and easily understood as the “keeping of the Commandments of God”. So, the question today, for you, is this: Are you keeping the “Commandments of God” or find some type of security in believing you are keeping the “commandments of Christ”?
The Bible states clearly:
“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Rev 12:17 (KJV)
Now, if the dragon here represents “pagan” Rome, and the woman represents the “church”, it becomes clear the enemy is making war with the last of the “church” who does what? They “keep the commandments of God” and “have the testimony of Jesus Christ”. Does it say the enemy is making war with those who “keep the commandments of Christ”? Does the so-called “commandments of Christ” enter into the controversy at all?
We need to have an understanding what constitutes the “Commandments of God” and “commandments of Jesus”. It is quite plain the “Commandments of God” are the Ten Commandments handed to Moses on Mt. Sinai, some almost twenty-five hundred years after God created and placed those same Commandments into the heart of Adam and Eve. So, the “Commandments of God” are the Ten Commandments. Now, what is often referred to as the “commandment(s) of Jesus” is when He states:
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Matt 22:37-40 (KJV)
Now, is the reference to two distinct commands given here any different that the Ten given by God? The answer is a resounding, “no”. For if you examine closely what Christ said, He is emphasizing the very same Commandments, the Ten Commandments, is summary form. Christ could not give anything different than what He gave to Adam and Eve, since it was He who made them, nor could He have given anything different than when He gave it to Moses, for it was Christ who handed Moses the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai. IT IS THE SAME THING! So, for those who believe the “commandments of Jesus” are something totally different from the “Commandments of God”, you are going to be lost simply because you were confused and believed the lie of satan who lost his place in the Kingdom for having broken the Ten Commandments!
Don’t be found guilty of the same charge!
