The first time God made an actual distinction between His People from those who were not His people is found in Exodus:
“And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them: And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.” Ex 14:19-20 (KJV)
There are parallelisms which have reference to our day soon-a-coming. What I like about this particular verse is both camps are functional and thinking everything is going to be okay and what is occurring is normal despite a miracle is taking place right before each camp’s eyes.
Soon, in our time, I believe, we’re going to be faced with a similar cloud. One of which will bring continued light in about what is to take place while the other will be kept in darkness. This “cloud” instead of being a “physical” entity will be of the same essence! You see, the cloud is called the “Angel of God” which is none other, in this particular case, Christ. For Christ was the cloud which separated His people from those who were not. Christ, is also called the “Word of God”, and it will be this, Bible truth, which will separate those who believe they are God’s people from those who ARE actually God’s people.
While God’s people will understand and look forward to the coming day of Christ’s soon Advent, those who are in a befuddled and cloudy mind will not know and understand what to expect. Now, let me make this clear: I’m not talking about those who are considered the “world”. They’re lost already. I’m referring to those who “think” they’re God’s people who are kept in darkness, not by any intent on God’s part but because of the people’s desire to follow the traditions and commandments of men. I can think of few things worse than to believe you are doing right, on the right path, and lost all along!
The Egyptians were believer in god and they had many of them, but their one god, the head of all gods, was Ra, the Sun God. Today, the majority of Christians, whether they believe it or not, whether they accept or not, are honoring the same god believing the deception, the lie of satan, which makes them think they are worshiping the true God, Jehovah. How does one know the difference? How does one know who is being followed? The Bible is the ONLY source of knowing and this will also be the source for those who will fall! The answer is found in Exodus 20:8-11 and it is also repeated in Rev. 22:14.
Now, you know. You can follow on with the proper light, or, you can believe you are following along while in the darkness.
The choice has always been up to you!
