CHRIST’S THIRD TEMPTATION

In Luke 4, we read how the devil carried Christ to a high mountain and in panoramic view showed Him all the kingdoms of this world and said to him, he would give it to Him IF He would only worship him.  Consider a moment the thought which went through Christ’s mind with this temptation presented to Him.  Knowing He would later die for what was being offered freely now, He had to turn Himself away, not look for the easy way out, determinedly to go forward and do what is right and this was not to “worship” Satan.  How many of us fail in this respect!

Satan produces a temptation to each one of us an opportunity to gain heaven if only we would NOT keep the 10 Commandments and worship him!  This is achieved when we do away with the 10 Commandments and disregard the 4th Commandment to: “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy” and instead to worship on Sunday, in essence, to worship him, THINKING we will receive the benefit of being saved into Heaven.  Christ stood His ground and won His test but how many of us fail, each week, when faced with our own test?

So many text given which prove and establish the 10 Commandments being the difference between those who “claim” to follow and know God and those who do. It is the 4th Commandment, the Sabbath, which will determine, and that soon, of who will follow God’s command and those who will not.  Worship has always been the contest beginning in the Garden of Eden.  In fact, Satan desired Christ’s position in Heaven, when He received worship from the other created worlds and the angels themselves, and could not understand he was created and not the Creator.  And it will be the issue, for us, as we’re soon approaching the end of all things on this planet.

Who will you worship?  Who do you think you are worshipping now by your continuing to disobey God and in essence become as one of the pagan sun worshippers when every Sun-day you bow in your places of worship and “think” to be doing so to God?  God is not pleased when we do this and is giving each one an opportunity to “Come out of her, My people.”  “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Rev 18:4 (KJV)

Do not be deceived and caught up in the delusion of 2 Thess. 2:11 – “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.”  That lie, Friends, is Sunday worship.
